About
A UNIQUE FESTIVAL OF ITS KIND, BRINGING TOGETHER BURGUNDIANS AND LOVERS OF JAZZ AND WINE.
Inspired by the atmosphere of an open-air jazz club, Montrachet Jazz transforms La Place du Pasquier into a vibrant gathering place for one unforgettable weekend, where jazz, wine, and gastronomy come together. Set in the heart of Puligny-Montrachet, just steps from some of the world’s most renowned Grand Cru vineyards, the festival brings together the local community, winemakers, and jazz and wine lovers from across the globe.
On stage, French and international artists perform, showcasing a rich diversity of jazz styles. The first edition welcomed talents such as Ludivine Issambourg, Chassol, Laurent de Wilde, and Paul Lay, among many others. Discover the full lineup for the second edition on our Artists page.
Each day, ten estates gather in the village square for a tasting, featuring a curated selection of white wines from Puligny-Montrachet, Chassagne-Montrachet, Saint-Aubin, and Meursault. It’s a unique opportunity to meet the winemakers and enjoy a relaxed, convivial experience where music and wine meet.
Throughout the weekend, food stands invite you to indulge in a variety of flavors. Local and international chefs have created exclusive menus that celebrate both the region and their culinary craftsmanship.
Everything is designed so you never have to choose between wine, music, and gastronomy—simply enjoy all three to the fullest. A refined harmony set against the backdrop of the Grand Crus, capturing the essence of the Burgundian l’art de vivre and the timeless connection between jazz and wine.
Statement from artistic director Lilly Schwartz
Immerse yourself in Montrachet Jazz — the second annual celebration where world-class jazz meets the finest Burgundian wines beneath the sunlit and starry skies of La Place du Pasquier, Puligny-Montrachet.
More than a Jazz Festival, Montrachet Jazz is a sensory vignette: exceptional wines, fearless cuisine, and daring musical artistry combine to create evenings bathed in golden light, the clink of glasses, and the irresistible sway of live, boundary‐pushing jazz. Headlining the festival is Ezra Collective — the 2023 Mercury Prize winners whose fearless blend of jazz, funk and global rhythms invites you to move, groove and lose yourself in sound. Since forming in 2012, the five‐piece collective (Femi and TJ Koleoso, Ife Ogunjobi, James Mollison and Joe Armon‐Jones) has become one of Britain’s most adventurous and acclaimed acts, thrilling audiences worldwide with their chart‐breaking album “Dance, No One’s Watching,” and their high‐energy tours which spanned the UK, Europe, Australia and the United States.
The Django Festival All Stars bring a quintessential Parisian street sound: a stellar quintet that revives the gypsy‐jazz magic of 1930s Paris and infuses it with a modern pulse that delights listeners of every generation. A highlight this year is the specially curated Montrachet Festival Jazz Band — seven internationally renowned artists who have never performed together before. Under the musical direction of Anthony Wilson, this unique ensemble—Anthony Wilson and Jesse Harris (guitars); Richard Sears (piano); Matt Penman (bass); Gregory Hutchinson (drums); Simon Moullier (vibes); Gabi Hartmann (vocals); and Robby Marshall (sax)—weaves a transcendent tapestry of contemporary jazz, spotlighting each member as both soloist and collective voice.
In the festival’s spirit of community and discovery, we also welcome three of the region’s finest ensembles — The Jack McClune Trio, the Washboard Boogie Band and SYNT — alongside world‐renowned DJ Saxa Goth from Paris. Join us in Puligny‐Montrachet for a rare, not‐to‐be‐missed convergence of wine, food and music.
We can’t wait to welcome you.
